Today’s halfman award nominee-Gary Patterson
23 12 2009Today, Gary Patterson was named the AP coach of the year. Patterson lead the TCU Horned Frogs to an undefeated season, their first Mountain West championship, and their first BCS apperance. Most people will argue that TCU should also be in the national championship game. TCU and Patterson are the cream of the crop this season in college football, and Patterson deserves our halfman nomination for today.

Today’s halfdog award nominee-Colorado Avalanche
23 12 2009Today’s halfdog nominee is the Colorado Avalanche. Last night, the Avalanche had a 2-0 lead over the Anaheim Ducks going into the third period. Things however turned south for Colorado, who allowed four goals in the third and lost 4-2. Ryan Getzlaf scored with just under 26 seconds left to seal the game. Giving away a game like that will always nominate a team for halfdog of the week.

Today’s halfman award nominee-The Sacramento Kings
22 12 2009Today’s halfman award nominee is the Sacramento Kings. Last night the Kings trailed the Chicago Bulls by 35 points in the 3rd quarter. The Kings, led by rookie of the year candidate Tyreke Evans came all the way back to beat the Bulls 102-98. This was the biggest comeback in the NBA since the Utah Jazz overcame a 36 point deficit against the Denver Nuggets in 1996.

Today’s halfdog award nominee-Jim Zorn
22 12 2009Today’s halfdog award nominee is Jim Zorn. Zorn was coaching his first game in front of new GM Bruce Allen and the Redskins lost badly to the Giants. Zorn, however is nominated today because he allowed that awful fourth down play to happen under his watch. Don’t worry if you’re a Redskins fan though, Zorn will be gone before you know it.
